For such a small island, Ireland really has had a big impact on the rest of the world. We may not have the sunny weather that most people lust over when travelling but we do have a lot more to offer. Here are some of the reasons why I love living and working in Dublin…

Friendly Atmosphere

Irish people are known for being some of the friendliest people in the world. Our land is known as the ‘Land of a Thousand Welcomes’, so it’s no wonder there is such an inviting atmosphere in the capital.

This welcoming environment transfers over to the culture within the office too. We have a great team working in the Your World Dublin office, who provides the best healthcare professionals that our country has to offer. If you don’t believe us, come by for a visit – our friendly Receptionist, Liz, is sure to brighten your day with a big smile!

The Craic and Culture

For those who don’t know, ‘craic’ is the Gaelic word for ‘fun’ and we have bucket loads of it. There are plenty of places to go and have fun on a Friday night when work is out. Our office is located in the heart of the city’s hustle and bustle so there are plenty of pubs, bars, poetry open mic nights, music gigs and comedy nights to choose from – you’ll never be bored in Dublin!

Irish people are famous for their great sense of humour, which is a brilliant tonic for a rainy Monday morning.

We Have Beautiful Nature and Scenery

There is a reason people travel halfway across the globe to visit our green isle. The rain here gives way to lush, green scenery and plenty of natural beauty everywhere.

When we do get sunshine, we like to stroll down to Stephen’s Green Park during our lunch break and enjoy some fresh air. Stephen’s Green is a five-minute walk from our office but there are plenty of other parks and natural locations to choose from! If you prefer a quieter spot, you’d love Iveagh Gardens, which is right across the road from Your World. The Iveagh Gardens regularly holds gigs and festivals throughout the summer!

The Foodie Scene

The Irish people love their grub; we inherited it from our mammy’s, who constantly made sure we were well fed (a bit like Mrs Doyle from Father Ted).

We are spoilt for choice when it comes to food around the city. Whether you love a meaty steak or prefer a vegan diet, you will never struggle to find something delicious to eat.

The Career Opportunities

Dublin is a vibrant city, full of opportunity. Your World is an international agency that often provides work overseas to both our internal staff and healthcare candidates.

Working for Your World in Dublin has some great perks, including dress-down Fridays and flexi time. Recent studies show that millennials consider flexi-time as their most valued work perk but with so many on offer at Your World, it’s tough to choose the most valued!

We are a Progressive Country

I’m flying the flag for Ireland here because, on 22nd May 2015, we made history. We were the first country in the world to legalise gay marriage by referendum. On that day, we made grá* the law; if that isn’t enough reason to celebrate all of the things I love about Dublin on Valentine’s Day then I don’t know what is.

Contact our brilliant Talent Explorer, Harriet Lawrence at [email protected] if you are interested in joining the Your World Dublin Team.

* grá is the Gaelic word for love.
