It’s 2020, and Your World has gone greener. Quite literally. As much as it sounds like a “new year, new me” resolution (we know it does), we’ve decided to take our eco-friendly journey a few steps further by doing our bit for the environment.

Did you know we’re a Platinum Member of the Plastic Free City Pledge? We’ve even created an Eco Team, that’s how committed we are.

From potted lime trees to ethical female sanitary products, below is everything you need to know about Your World’s long-term changes in going Greener.

Potted Lime Trees

Need a bit of zing in your life? Everyone who walks into our reception will be greeted by a few potted lime trees. You’re probably asking yourself, “Why limes?”. Well, they represent Your World (colour wise), help clean the air and are incredibly easy to look after.

Recycled Toilet Paper

Believe it or not, a few of us went around the office and asked all staff which recycled toilet paper they preferred.

Just know the production of paper and cardboard products made from recycled paper uses 50% less energy, and 90% less water. We’ve made sure to supply all the toilets in the office with recycled toilet paper!

Ethical Female Products

We know, we were just as baffled as you are. For those who aren’t aware, ethical female products mean the production of tampons and pads are vegan, organic, 100% cotton, perfume-free and chlorine-free. In other words, these products are human and environment-friendly, and we’ll be trialling these to discover which ones our staff prefer!

Food Waste Reduction

According to WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme), 10 million tonnes of food waste are generated every year in the UK. To help tackle the amount of waste, Your World has partnered up with Oddbox, a company giving a new meaning to fruit and veg deemed too ugly to eat. By doing so, we’ll be leaving a greener footprint on the World and help preserve nature’s resources.

Oddbox works with local growers of fruit and veg to minimise carbon footprint and pay a price they’re all happy with. They also collect, recycle their packaging and ensure their boxes are 100% biodegradable.

Recycled Stationery

We get it, a good pen can make you feel empowered and not make your writing look as messy (we’ve all been there), but we also don’t need to be harming the environment. From now on, our staff, healthcare candidates and clients will be given recycled stationery such as pens and post tick notes made from bamboo and recycled paper, ethical lip balms and much more.

Eco Team

Presenting you the Eco Team, a group of individuals who are looking at ways to become more environmentally friendly in the office, and outside. They’ll organise eco-friendly fundraisers and regularly partner up with Your World’s Social Team to organise in-office events such as competitions and events.

But their work doesn’t stop there. Their magic expands to sustainability, waste reduction and more importantly, giving back to the local community. Whether it’s raising money for a charity or feeding the homeless, our Eco Team will be there.

If the environment is something you’re passionate about, get in touch. If you’re aware of a local event, shop or pop-up store taking the initiative to change someone’s life, let us know. We’ll be there.
